More success for the MSPT in Las Vegas
With the biggest day on the U.S. sports calendar playing out Sunday, the MSPT designed Poker Bowl V with the aim of giving players the full Sunday to enjoy the Super Bowl. The $350,000 guaranteed, $1,100 buy-in event drew 908 total entries, with the final prize pool ending up well past that mark at $880,760.
Poker Bowl V played out as the fourth MSPT Main Event at the Venetian in the past three months. All four live MSPT Venetian events drew big numbers, as both the tour and the poker room continue to perform as the center of the live poker universe in Las Vegas.
Oshana took the top payout, as the final four players agreed to halt play and chop up the remaining prize money.
Jordan Cristos (2nd – $119,232) also came away with a six-figure payday per the terms of the four-way chop. Other players included in that agreement were Joris Springael (3rd – $85,000) and Seungmook Jung (4th – $85,000).
The final day of Poker Bowl V did end up carrying over into Super Bowl Sunday, as the four-player deal happened at the end of a final day that played for more than 15 hours according to PokerNews tournament reports.
